Preparation

May 5, 2020

I’m in preparation.

I’m in the dark room.

I’m being developed.

I’m learning many things too.

I’m under the fire.

I’m being refined.

All my mixed motives,

Come into the light.

Im unsteady as I walk,

This new trail never blazed.

I’m finding my emotions,

Don’t always lead me astray.

For the deep ache in my heart,

The discontent of complacency,

Has driven me to a longing,

A burning inside without any relief.

I’m beginning to listen,

To release the extra weight.

I’m going to the high places.

I’m ascending to see His face.

See, high on the mountain,

All my idols are so small,

All the need for affirmation,

Begins to crumble and fall.

There is glory up here,

And He told me He would share it.

Not for my fame,

But to be filled with His Spirit.

Jesus, I’m hiding in Your presence,

Under the shadow of Your wing.

Covered by Your cloud,

Your glory is all they see.

If the day ever came that you lifted me up,

Make my whole being ready for that burden and cup.

If you give me a drink,

Make it one like you drank.

Humility, grace, love

Beyond the need for man’s thanks.

If I’m never ready,

then let me remain here forever.

Because I know that from the secret place,

We can change the world together.

I’m in preparation.

I’m in the dark room.

I’m being developed.

I’m learning many things too.

I’m under the fire.

I’m being refined.

All my mixed motives,

Coming into the Light…
